1936 Ford 2-Door Sedan

Follow along as we restore this classic Ford to complete original condition.

The vehicle is dropped off for complete frame off restoration. Our customer wants us to do our magic and bring it back to as original as possible.By the way it is a pleasure and a privilege to work with Joe and Elaine Floyd on their 1936 Ford Collection. This little honey was a prime candidate for restoration, basically rust free and untouched. We initially took over 400 pictures in the process of dismantling this very nice 1936 Ford 2 Door Sedan, here are a few of the highlights.

After the car has been completely dismantled to include the interior, driveline and body we start the process of paint stripping. Plastic media blasting and sand blasting processes are used and as you can see the floor pan had a little rust after all.

We then fabricated the new floor pans mig welded them in place and ground the welds so no noticeable repair can be seen.

Many coats of fill primer are applied after the body work has been completed. Next, the long process of block sanding priming and re-priming until we are satisfied that it is straight and perfect. With the application of the Washington Blue, the original color, we have turned the corner and can start the assembly process. The motor is now back from the machine shop painted the original green and put back in its place.

Along with the new floor wood, new wiring harness, we color matched the steering wheel and repainted the wood grain on the dash as well as the window moldings. It’s starting to look like a new 36 Sedan.
