1959 Mercury- 20th Anniversary

This car is made to cruise in style. It was originally purchased in Nov of 1958 in Colorado Springs Colorado.

Ford considered Mercury its branch of the luxury market and in 1959, Mercury celebrated its 20th anniversary. During that year, many Mercury models were available to the consumer, which were Monterey, Montclair, Park Lane, Commuter, Voyager, and Colony Park.

1959 Mercury Monterey, Luxury for the Family

Produced by the Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company in 1950 was a full-sized luxury car known as the Mercury Monterey. In 1959 there was a production of many styles of Monterey. This included 11,355 four door hardtops, 43570 four door sedans, 17323 two door hardtops, 12694 two-door sedans and 4,426 Convertibles.

We have the original bill of sale and other receipts. On the bill of sale they added 10 Gals of gas for the grand total of $3.50. Gas must have been high that day all the way up to 35 cents a gal. That must have been"Rocky mountain high" prices to be that high in 1958.
I think it is an outrageous body style and would make a great rod although this above average car would make someone a great cruiser as is.
