Let me introduce myself, I am Jim Gaboury president and founder of Jimmy's C.R.C. Inc., the "Auto Restoration Specialists". The "CRC" stands for Customs, Rods, and Classics. CRC was incorporated in 1996 and has grown to be the premier restoration shop of the Twin Cities in a few short years. We enjoy doing business in Belle Plaine, MN. We have made our mark on the Twin Cities with our show-winning product. Our main thrust is classic vehicle restorations of the 20s, thru 70s, collectable vehicles and street rods. These vehicles are resurrected back to pristine condition from the frame up. Some may be totally customized or updated to run and drive and have the comforts of a brand new car, yet look like a vintage auto. Some of the processes include custom paint and body, engines and drive lines, suspensions, sheet metal fabrication and complete interior renovation. Along with our professional crew of highly trained and experienced technicians, we have state of the art equipment and a professional storefront. | ||||||||||||||
| Who is Jim Gaboury? My love for cars started in my youth watching and then working with my father at his body shop on the East Side of St. Paul. It was called Gaboury's body shop and service station. (See photo at right) I tell everybody that I grew up in the body shop and that is not far from the truth. My dad and big brother taught and inspired me in the art of auto repair painting and customizing. Therefore, I am a second-generation body man. After a three year tour in the Army, (Vietnam era), where I was trained in helicopter sheet metal fabrication, I found my way back into the autobody trade. Destiny would have it that I would have my own business, and for ten years I owned and operated a collision repair business in Sierra Vista, Arizona, where I developed my management skills and reputation for custom painting and restoration. My passion was the old cars however, and our wonderful little Arizona town couldn't support such and endeavor, so my wife and I decided to move to a large community that could support a custom shop that was exclusively old car restoration and hot rods. We decided to come home to Minnesota and purchased a home in Chaska. Little did we know that we were moving to Hot Rod Heaven, maybe better known as the Twin Cities. The State of Minnesota has more vehicles registered 1964 and earlier than any other state per capita. Thus, my dream has come true with Jimmy's Customs, Rods, and Classics and it's an exciting time. I'd like to give you a little tour of our facilities on these pages. Thanks for stopping in, |
