Let me show you what we can do for your engine compartment. Whether you want to rebuild and detail a completely stock engine or create a killer power plant for all out performance, we can help you realize that goal. We have the experts that can remove your motor, upgrade the systems, clean and repaint your engine, and transmission all to the correct specifications. We do not perform machine work at Jimmy’s but we sub to local pros for the rebuild and or dyno work before we paint and re-install.

This little Ford 302 is an art form unto itself. It is in our Boss 302 restoration belonging to Jerry Higgins of Lakeville MN. Not only is it a thing of beauty, it is the epitome of performance of the small block Fords. Note: it has upgrades from stock with a chrome dress up kit and the MSD ignition the only additions to the otherwise original block that came in the Boss when it was purchased on Halloween day 1970. It is in a beautiful one owner Boss 302 Mustang that is the appropriate Calypso Corral "orange" a fitting color for a Halloween purchase wouldn’t you say?
The 454 in this pic belongs to a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. We brought it back to as close to perfect original as you can find. Somewhere along the line the smog equipment was removed. Our customer wanted it restored back to the build sheet specs so we detuned it back to a smog car with the small exhaust. That was tough on this performance guy, but I understood the originality thing and the customer is always right about their car. Amen.
The next two shots are Mopar engine compartments. The first is a 413 Cubic inch in a 64 Chrysler 300. The second is a Mopar Performance 360 crate motor that was transplanted into a state of the art 39 Dodge Street Rod that is one of JCRC’s FanatiCRAFTs.
It is a real thumper that we purchased through Summit Racing. We also built custom headers (in house) for this hot rod.
The two shots below are 55 Chevy engines. The first one obviously was upgraded with the tunnel ram and two 600 Holley carburetors a hot MSD ignition and the nostalgic fender well headers. The paint on the block matched the color of the car which is a nice custom touch especially on a red car. The second is a stock engine compartment with the old 55’s original 265 V8. A small block Chevy looks great any way it’s detailed.
The small block Chevy on the left is a built 350 in a custom pick up. It is another Jimmy’s FanatiCRAFT. We installed a Holley projection for induction, and she runs as good as she looks.
This small block Chevy is waiting to be installed into the 55, it makes a very nice office ornament wouldn’t you agree?
This is a 340 Mopar motor in a beautiful 70 Cuda, another show winning Jimmy’s FanitiCRAFT.
Chevy orange dominates this 70 Camaro engine compartment, and note the finned valve covers painted to match. Not stock but very cool, it has the older corvette style covers that were dying to look vintage Chevy. We also installed some chrome goodies and jet coated headers. This job was just an engine compartment detail job where we pulled the engine, cleaned and painted the engine bay, replaced the engine’s major gaskets and painted it Chevy orange, re-installed it, tuned it up and it was ready to compete at any car show.
The last one on this page is a 1953 Buick Skylark engine compartment, click the photo to see the rest of the car.
