Nostalgia SuperChargers

The Dragsters

Nostalgia SuperChargers is a group of individuals who re-live the golden age of drag racing. The racers run 60s style funny cars, front engine dragsters and altereds. Traveing around the midwest, they have match races against each other and bring the old days of drag racing back to life. On these pages are a few of the highlights from some of their appearences.

The PAST GAS Dragster

HISTORY:

The Past Gas dragster was originally built in 1963 by Richard Erickson in Fridley, Minnesota. The car was powered by an injected 400 CID Oldsmobile engine built by his cousin, current NHRA Pro Stock standout "Professor" Warren Johnson. The car employed a unique two speed "torque multiplier" from a Minneapolis Moline farm tractor and was campaigned as an A/D at mid-western tracks with limited success. In the later 60’s the car was converted to an injected 300 CID Ford six cylinder engine and was reported by the owner to have held the NHRA National Record in DID for a two year period with that combination. The car changed hands twice but never ran again until purchased by the current owner in the late 1980’s at a swap meet for "$250 and a cold case of Pabst, delivered". The car was reconstructed in 1995.
